I know it's your least favorite of the seasons
I don't blame you, you more than have your reasons
It would be foolish of me to wish you a happy one
You'll only be happy when it's over and done
I hope the longer days don't make your days feel long
And that evil weatherman mostly gets it wrong
I hope it doesn't rain if at an outdoor show
And if you're traveling, it's where you want to go
You're someone not looking for the summer of all summers
You'll be happy if there's not a reason to call plumbers
So I can only wish you
The summer of some summers
Wishing you the summers of some summers
Just see it through
That's all you can do
The summer of some summers
Wishing you the summer of some summers
Just see it through
That's all you can do
I hope the barbecues you go to lift your mood
And they're not filled with bores who eat up all the food
You're someone not looking for the summer of all summers
And the forecasts are nothing but bummers after bummers
So I can only wish you
The summer of some summers
Wishing you the summer of some summers
You'll see it through
That's all you can do
You've heard them sing about the summertime blues, and you know you caught them
But everyday, you must remind yourself, is another day closer to autumn
The summer of some summers, the summer of some summers
The summer of some summers, the summer of some summers

Every time I hear a new song Martin Newell writes I think it's the best song I've ever heard. One of the great pop writers of all time. Dolly Birds isn't new ground for Martin, but who cares? It's another album of consistently great tunes. Not a bad track on here and some that now rank among my favorites. You can't really go wrong with any of his albums but this one is just great front to back. dylandagenais25
